Senior Business Analyst (New) - Resolute Technology Solutions

Senior Business Analyst 

Resolute Technology Solutions is adding a Senior Business Analyst to our Professional Services team. This role will require a combination of skills including Business Analysis and most importantly – a consultative approach to working with clients. You will need to have a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and the ability to listen, allowing you to efficiently decipher client needs. This is a very independently driven role, so if micro-management is your thing - we are not the right place for you! 

What you will be responsible for: 

  • Perform necessary requirements investigation, analysis and evaluation to determine project feasibility
  • Assist to develop project cost and benefit estimates to establish project
  • Develop solution alternatives leading to recommendations for new applications, technology installations or changes to existing ones 
  • Analyze existing systems to understand both the business domain environment that the systems support and the technical environment in which they operate
  • Perform impact analysis on the changes to existing systems and processes 
  • Work on both business and technology projects 
  • Perform package (software) selection process
  • Write technical support documentation 
  • Assesses technical risks relative to software design and processes 
  • Documents requirements for the business and IT processes 
  • Create and execute the Request for Proposal process for IT solutions 
  • Develops time schedules, conversion and test procedures for all aspects of the system (from manual through to automated processes) 
  • Capable of using Project Management methods to manage smaller to medium projects 
  • Monitors, instructs and assigns work components to other staff where instructed/required
  • Perform programming activities as required (i.e.: writing database queries)
  • Participate in business process reengineering (innovation or improvement) studies as required/requested to meet defined business objectives (increased quality, reduced cycle times, reduced cost)
  • Active involvement in establishing technical strategy and direction 
  • Provide leadership within the group to advance delivery services capabilities by contributing to the continual improvement of methods, tools and techniques that are related to the analysis function (e.g.: business processes reengineering, business case development)
  • Performs other special projects/services as assigned for the company and/or its Clients
  • Support other RTS team members with knowledge sharing, brainstorming, coaching, collaboration, etc. as requested or required
  • Demonstrate the principles of exceptional customer service with a focus on critical thinking and effective communication that supports anticipating customer needs

What you bring to the table:

  • Post-Secondary Degree, Certifications or equivalent work experience as a Business Analyst focused on Information Technology
  • 10 – 15 years of experience with a combination of business analysis focused work.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong business judgment and common sense

  • Proven ability to perform in a fast paced and demanding environment

What you will generally be responsible for:
• Design and engineer effective network environments including assembling technical components as required
• Design and implement network switch infrastructure to support client WAN and LAN environments
• Design virtual LANs to support a variety of services
• Troubleshoot advanced level 3 issues to assist operations team
• Monitor and recommend network changes to improve security and manageability
• Integrate 3rd party products to create solutions as required

What you bring to the table:
• Minimum of 10 plus years of progressive experience supporting and/or designing networks with the last 2 years being at a senior level
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA considered an asset
• Experience with firewall configuration and support considered an asset

Systems Analyst, Office 365 Specialist - Blueshift

 

The Systems Analyst, Office 365 Specialist will provide a detailed understanding on the features and capabilities of Office 365 and the Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps, Flow, Power BI) from the user and technical aspect and how business processes are transformed using these applications.

The Systems Analyst will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to implement new and enhance existing solutions, in addition to:

  • Participate in all phases of the Solution Delivery Life Cycle including planning, requirements definition, solution design, test execution, and implementation of business applications.
  • Complete applicable project-related documentation, including; design specifications, application test plans, test cases and scripts, as well as end-user and system admin guides.
  • Works closely with the project delivery team to ensure the business systems and system implementations are supported appropriately.
  • Participate in Project Intake activities to help develop appropriate time and cost estimates for discovery and high-level requirements definition.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ Technical Experience developing applications and implementing technical solutions; Knowledge and experience with the Office 365 platform and related platforms/tools is a strong asset; This includes
  • Microsoft SharePoint, Workflow Automation tools (Nintex, InfoPath, Azure Logic Apps), Database technologies (Common Data Service, SQL Server, Access).
  • Experience in Solution Development Life Cycle, including; design (creating functional / technical specifications), test scripts and other system administration, and support documentation.
  • Experience in gathering and analyzing business requirements; ability to read and write user documentation as well as technical solution documentation;
  • Ability to understand and interpret business processes, workflows, and systems to identify solutions or opportunities for application improvements (e.g. utilizing application functionality or improving application system performance); ability to leverage application / technology functionality to resolve complex business issues. This will include using out-of-the-box functionality as well as custom-developed functions from previous implementations.
  • Ability to communicate/collaborate effectively with clients, management, and project teams.
  • Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills.
  • Ability to work with a moderate level of supervision.

PROJECT MANAGER

THE OPPORTUNITY
We’re looking for a driven, results-oriented Project Manager to join our growing Project Management Office. In this role, you will be responsible for leading teams to deliver projects that span across one or more departments, often including external partnerships with vendors and suppliers as well as customer-facing projects.

As a Project Manager, you will be ensuring scope is documented and well understood between the project team and all stakeholders, be accountable to the project sponsor to deliver frequent status updates and all other project methodology deliverables. You will be responsible for delivering the project on time, on budget and within scope, and capturing and escalating issues, risks and decisions to ensure transparency around project health, as well as options and trade-offs for decision items.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Drive the development of the project charter and project plan from the originating project request with input from project team members and stakeholders
• Collaborate with project team members and stakeholders to develop project schedule, identify issues and risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Monitor and control project progress using various tools (burn up/down charts, velocity charts, forecasting models, updated Gantt charts, etc.) to track progress against deadlines
• Serve as the first point of escalation with project team members and works to remove blockers
• Facilitate meetings with project teams and all stakeholders
• Liaise with various Pollard Banknote stakeholders to assist with business case development
• Develop meeting agendas and take meeting minutes capturing all action items, decisions, and issues and/or risks raised with for follow-up
• Provide regular updates on project health and status for project sponsor and stakeholders
• Collaborate with PMO to review KPIs, develop portfolio summary reports & recommendations
• Build a strong project team with clarity around roles & responsibilities, expectations and deadlines keeping project morale high
• Provide mentorship and guidance to other Project Managers or those acting in Project Manager roles
• Look for opportunities to improve efficiencies through project deliverables and collaborate with department management when opportunities or issues require attention
• Use both agile and traditional project management methodologies, depending on the project

QUALIFICATIONS
• Degree or Diploma specializing in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Project Management, or equivalent combination of education and related experience required
• PMP or PMI-ACP/CSM designation is required
• Prosci or other OCM designation considered an asset
• 7+ years of progressive project management experience leading complex projects; including external customer facing IT projects, in a cross-functional environment
• Experience managing projects using Agile methodologies (inclusive of scrum/iterations, incremental releases, user stories, Kanban techniques etc.)
• Experience working with a large group of stakeholders with varying expectations to build cohesion and agreement on decision processes throughout the project and negotiating tradeoffs for the best overall project outcomes
• Understanding of best practices of IT concepts, IT project life cycle and Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Demonstrated ability to form successful relationships and collaborate with all levels of the organization, and offer strong customer service
• Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities within a fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail
• Ability to adapt and be flexible based on the needs of the project
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• Strong team player with the ability to effectively collaborate
• Proficient and advanced computer skills in programs including, but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Visio, JIRA, MS Project, Smartsheet, SharePoint, etc.
